The Challenge Is On!
A long time Irondale contributor has agreed to match dollar for dollar any donation that comes in specifically earmarked to support St. Joan of the Stockyards.
So here’s where you come in (Just like NPR)
Tell us what you want your money to go towards. Then come to the show and see it up there on the stage. (Don’t you wish your income tax payments worked like this? “Dear IRS please deposit my payment in the National Endowment of the Arts account, but don't you give a nickel to the Defense Dept.”)
Your contribution could go to supporting an actor, a designer, the rear wall of the set, or the big light right over your seat.
There are 7 actors in the show plus a beatboxer. $720 pays a week’s salary for one of these extraordinary performers.
$7,500 pays for our 3 designers: lights! Costumes! Scenery! (Pitch in to raise the tent just like they did in Summerstock-that old Gene Kelly movie with Judy Garland!)
$4,500 pays for the scenery itself. (When the show closes, take home your piece of the Berlin Wall.)
$3,500 pays for the costumes. (Want to pay for Joan’s Salvation Army uniform?)
$3,000 pays Peter Kleinert’s director’s fee. (What a bargain!)
$1,700 pays for his roundtrip airline ticket on a discount German airline where the seats are much too close together and too small. (But Peter's a trooper.)
$2,000 pays for his housing while he’s here. (In a very pleasant Brooklyn neighborhood.)
$7,000 pays for the posters you’ll soon be seeing all over Brooklyn. (Just like BAM and St. Ann's.)
$6,000 covers the cost of our wonderful publicity team so people know what's going on. (They got us on tv and in The Times.)
And $250 pays for the programs where the audience can see Your Name as a Sponsor and you can impress your friends and family with exactly what you are responsible for.
You don't have to do it all yourself either. (Donate the cost of half a costume. You do the shirt someone else pays for the trousers. Great way to make new friends!)
Remember: Your contribution is matched dollar for dollar
